"CLIMATE, TYPES AND ENERGY - A digression"

An article in the magazine "der architekt 5/2016 " by Junior Professor Dr. Angèle Tersluisen.

"It all starts with the climate. House types develop from the climate. The house types in turn result in an energy consumption inherent in the type. The three terms climate, type and energy are logically related. The triad forms a strong series in which a fourth concept, that of comfort, resonates cautiously. A mental journey through the history of architecture shows that the climate has obviously produced house types at all times, the aim of which was to create the most comfortable dwelling possible with the lowest possible energy consumption."

Angèle Tersluisen researches and teaches as a junior professor of building cybernetics at the TU Kaiserslautern department.
