About fatuk

fatuk is the department of architecture at the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau. Here - at the Kaiserslautern site - around 600 students, 35 academic staff and 14 professors are working to make the world a better place.

The All School Charrette is held at the beginning of each winter semester. Bachelor's, diploma and Master's students work together in small groups on an architectural task. After two weeks, almost everyone knows each other.

You start one year analog, then it becomes digital. You are taught in the areas of design - construction - context. You get to know the various disciplines of architecture through a project. During the excursion week, the entire fatuk goes on an exploratory trip every summer.

Your facilities: a 24-hour model-making workshop for traditional craftsmanship; a digital workshop for cutting, engraving, milling and 3D printing; individual workstations for neat drawing and designing; a library for research and reflection.

And affordable living space in a small, lively university town in the Palatinate Forest.
