The submission of general diploma/master’s theses for the 2026–2027 winter semester will take place on Wednesday, November 25, 2026. The submission deadline is Thursday, March 25, 2027; presentations are expected to take place between April 7 and 9, 2027.

The supervisor for the general topic is Prof. Helmut Kleine-Kraneburg. Before registering for the diploma or master’s thesis with the Registrar’s Office, you should have secured a thesis advisor for the general diploma or master’s thesis. Therefore, please contact your potential advisors early on. (See also §16(2) of the Diploma or Master’s Examination Regulations.)

It is also possible to work on a topic of your choice during the same period.
To do so, you must submit an abstract via your advisor by email to architektur-studienberatung[at]rptu.de no later than Monday, October 26, 2026. You will be notified of the acceptance or rejection of your self-selected topic no later than Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Registration for the diploma/master’s thesis takes place through the Registrar’s Office. Upon request and after your eligibility has been verified, the Registrar’s Office will send you the diploma/master’s thesis form, which you must submit to the research group that issued it on the day it is issued. Registration and the issuance of the form by the Registrar’s Office are handled via email. The distribution and submission deadline also applies to independent projects; the form will be accepted by the research group that assigns the general topic on the day of distribution.

I ask students who have not yet expressed their interest in working on their diploma or master’s thesis during the winter semester to do so by emailing architektur-studienberatung[at]rptu.de; if possible, please include confirmation of a thesis advisor’s commitment.
